Hi, I am Rich a dedicated graduate with a first-class honors degree in BSc architectural engineering (Hons) from the University of Plymouth. I am currently working as a building sustainability consultant in Bristol. During my time in university  I developed an interest in the built environment, architecture, construction. This has been amplified in my current role as I have developed a deeper understanding and interest in sustainable construction techniques, retrofit of existing buildings and building regulations compliance. ​

Beyond work, I also enjoy photography and enjoy photographing natural landscapes and urban settings. I can also be found frequently at gigs big and small, with a real love of live music. .

As part of my studies, I have undertaken modules in architectural technology and the environment, construction and building technology, building services, refurbishment and retrofit, building and land law and an end of year built environment project. 

​

Since joining my currently company, I have quickly up skilled and developed, with my role in the company changing from just a tester to a key asset in delivering more complex consultancy work.

I am a qualified ATTMA Level 1 air pressure tester, Domestic energy assessor, Retrofit Assessor and Non domestic energy assessor.

In my experience I have carried out hundreds of air pressure test on new build and existing properties, EPC's, PAS2035 Assessments and have being on developing a in house PAS2038 Assessments for a school in London. I also have experience of assisting in carrying out SAP assessments and have almost master the use of SAP10 and am looking to gain my OCDEA qualification. As part of assisting in SAP assessment, I have written many sustainability statements for major developments in Bristol and the surrounding areas for regional house builders.

For me my role is not just about work but about helping to develop a more sustainable built environment. My role involves testing and assessing as well as consulting and modelling retrofits of existing buildings, including investigating the conversion of empty commercial units into residential, to ensure all our buildings new and old help meet our climate goals.
